What Do I Do In My Free Time?

Right now I get to have 2 to 3 hours a day without my special shoes on.  

What do I do with my shoe free time?

I build towers with my laser lights.

Note from Mama: 

He had 3 stacked one on top of  another up on top of his water glass.

Of course they fell before I got the picture. 

And I for the life of me couldn't stack 3 on top of each other.

Sometimes my biggest sister does my hair.

Or I do my sister's hair.

Just kidding...my sister did my sister's hair.

I soak my feet

I sit in the front yard and watch for motocycos.

Do fun stuff like play in the pool.

My sister - that's as wet as she got...girls!

Climb out of the pool...

 ...and climb back in the pool...

...at least a hundred times.

Aawk...my sister's spraying me...

 Race away from that cold water.

Sometimes I sit nicely while my mama tries to take pictures of me.

And sometimes I do serious stuff like work in the sandbox.

So those are some of the things I do with my free time.

The Next Phase~Boots and Bar

On July 9th we had our appointment in Iowa City to have Willem's casts removed for the last time. Yahoo!  He also received his 'boots and bar'. So it's been almost 3 weeks post-casts and it's another whole new experience.

The first few days and even more the nights were not so much fun (for him or me).  He has to learn so much all over again this time with a brace on.  He was frustrated - he didn't know how to roll over and he couldn't get comfortable with his feet braced together. And I'm sure he was in a bit of pain, or at least had a bit of discomfort from another new position of his feet.  His muscles in his lower legs were also very tender and sore for a few days. But in between he was happy.  And by now - almost 3 weeks into the boots and bar - he's pretty much back to his very happy sunshiny self. He really pretty much just gets through everything he's gone through with a happy disposition and a smile on his face. I'm so blessed.

He smiles a lot, but this was by far the biggest smile he's had.

He was beyond excited to be able to get in the bath tub again.

Home again and on to our journey of boots and bar.

Happy Independence Day!

A little late - I know, but it was Willem's first time to celebrate Independence Day in our great country.
I'm so glad you're here in this great country and can celebrate with us this year, Willem!

We don't have to go far for fireworks, as we have quite a show right at our driveway each year.  

We always buy some fireworks, and there are always at least several neighbors who buy some too.  

We sit on our driveway for an hour or more and enjoy.  

Willem was quite enthralled while watching.
