Not Me! Monday!

I did not leave an inch of coffee in my coffee mug when I arrived at work and I did not forget my mug in the car. No, I love to enjoy my coffee on my way to work and always drink all of it. I also did not have any coffee left in my thermos that I thought I would just drink on my way home and when I got to my car, I did not think, "Oh, the cup is cold. I'll just warm it up by the vent so that I can have a warm sip of coffee as I enjoy my ride home." And I most certainly did not tip my cup over right in front of the vent and thus did not pour that inch of coffee right into the vent. And then I most certainly did not hear a big *POP* as the radio went deathly quiet. Now, I have a long drive (over an hour one way) so I did not go crazy in the car without a radio that whole long ride home wondering if I had killed my radio forever.

As we were eating our evening meal I did not tell my 5 year old many times to sit with her behind flat on her chair or she would fall off. And of course she did listen and obey me so she did not tumble off her chair in the funniest slow motion looking, windmill mimicking fall I have ever seen. I did rush over to make sure she did not get hurt. And when I made sure she was ok - I did not laugh and laugh so hard I really almost wet myself, replaying the tumble in my mind over and over as I was hugging her to me. And she most certainly did not get offended that we were all laughing so hard. Because, of course we did not laugh. I would never laugh at something like that! Not me!

I did not let my girls have a slumber party on the basement bathroom floor when they asked me if they could. I would never let my girls have a slumber party on the bathroom floor, even if it was an in-floor heated, newly tiled bathroom floor in our newly done basement. Bathroom floor! No way! Not this mama.

I am not typing this post just to link to MckMama's website, and if I was I most certainly would not want to win the awesome prize she is giving away over there today. No way! Not me.

Slumber Party

Here's another way to use the in-floor heated, newly tiled bathroom floor, before the toilet gets put in. I love it. This was Emm's idea and I thought it was so cute. She said, 'We've got to do it before the toilet gets put in or it might overflow all over us.' This is actually pretty amazing, as Emm has a real hard time sleeping anywhere but in her own bed or very close to where I am.

Not me! Monday!

I did not stay up til 1:00 last night reading, as that would not be a good thing to do when I have to work bright and early Monday morning. And then I did not sleep later than I should this morning because I just didn't want to get up for work. I love my job and would never arrive later than I should to work, just because I didn't want to go to sleep last night.

I did not rush home from work to work on a volunteer project that came home from kindergarten until the minute I had to walk out the door to just make it to my 8 year old's parent/teacher conference on time. I then did not come home to throw a load of clothes into the washer, feed the girls and go through their bedtime routine to get them into bed, check my 8 year old's homework, finish the volunteer project and put it into the kindergartener's backpack, only to look into her folder and see the homework we had not done together. I never miss homework, oh no, not me! I always have time to do the homework and make sure we get it done.

I did not wait til the girls were in bed before I ate the last ice cream sandwich. They love them too and that would have been so selfish of me. And it did not make me feel so much better after my nice calm and quiet evening!

..til next time.

...and then there was

... electricity
...and lights

(even in the closet :)

... and fans

... and toasty toes
...on our in-floor heated, newly tiled bathroom floor!

... and the people were so happy!

This is my first 'Not Me' Monday blog. It sounds like fun and I certainly do have plenty of 'not me' moments.

Here goes ...

I was so tired tonight when I got home from work, that I most certainly did not feed my daughters a warmed up store bought sandwich with potato chips on the side for their meal this evening. Nope, not me. I believe children should be fed healthy meals and that would not be a healthy meal even if they did have milk with it.

I also did not say ok, when my child said maybe she could listen to the new book on cd that she received today instead of me reading to her tonight. I read books to my children every evening before they go to bed and I would not have said yes tonight, just because I was tired.
